FAU To Host Autism Lecture
BOCA RATON, FL (April 23, 2003) -- Florida Atlantic University will host the final lecture of the fourth annual FAU Autism Lecture Series -- a series of free, public lectures presented by leading authorities in autism and supporting areas.
This semester's final autism lecture will take place Monday, April 28 at 7 p.m. at the FAU Boca Raton Campus, 777 Glades Road, at the University Center in the Majestic Palm room.
Dr. Jennifer Stella Durocher, University of Miami, will present a lecture entitled "Understanding and Supporting Individuals with Asperger's Disorder". Asperger's Disorder, a widely misunderstood disorder on the autism spectrum, has dramatically increased in the last ten years. Durocher will provide insights into the nature of this neurological disorder and review recent research and advances in diagnosis and treatment.
