Get Carded Carnival At FAU To Feature Food, Fun And Freebies
BOCA RATON, FL (March 20, 2003) A carnival to promote organ donation among college students and others will be held on Florida Atlantic Universitys Boca Raton campus on Wednesday, April 2, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Featuring free food, giveaways, games and activities, the event is aimed at building awareness of the ongoing importance of organ donations. More than 75,000 Americans are currently waiting for life-saving organ donations. People signing donor cards at the event will receive free long distance phone cards.
Get Carded activities will take place on the free speech lawn and the bookstore lawn of the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Rd.
Now in its fourth year at FAU, Get Carded is sponsored by the universitys Daniel B. Weppner Volunteer Center, Students Advocating Volunteer Involvement, the Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency and the Florida Coalition on Donation.
