Former U.S. Congressman Bob Barr Presents 'The Second Amendment is About More Than Just Guns'

BOCA RATON, FL (November 19, 2007) –  Florida Atlantic University and the Jack Miller Forum for Civics Education present a public lecture titled “The Second Amendment is About More Than Just Guns.”  The lecture will take place on Thursday, November 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Senate Chambers, room 174B of the Student Activities Center Building on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road.  The lecture is free and open to the public.

The lecture will be presented by former United States Congressman (R-Ga) Bob Barr.  Barr is currently president and CEO of Liberty Strategies, a public policy consulting firm.  From 1971 to 1978, Barr worked at the CIA, and in 1986, he was appointed by President Reagan to serve as the U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Georgia.  While in Congress, he led congressional fact-finding trips to other countries to investigate terrorism, and international crime and drug trafficking.   

The Jack Miller Forum is funded by the Jack Miller Center for the Teaching of America’s Founding Principles and History.  Its programs are designed to engage a broad range of scholars to educate students on America’s history.
