FAU Volunteer Center Hosts Many Programs That Benefit Community

BOCA RATON, FL (November 21, 2006) – Florida Atlantic University’s Volunteer Center, located on FAU’s Boca Raton campus, is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive to benefit local families this holiday season. Also, during the month of December, the Volunteer Center has partnered with the Salvation Army and 10 sites from the Spirit of Giving program in Boca Raton, for the Holiday Giving Tree event to collect gifts for children in need.  Food items and holiday gifts can be brought to the Volunteer Center, located at 777 Glades Road, Room 207 of the University Center.

Since its conception in 1996, FAU’s Volunteer Center has been a place that provides students with a multitude of programs and resources that benefit all of South Florida through involvement with the local community. The center also has recently begun implementing monthly Saturday projects which invite students to participate in hands-on service projects.
