BOCA RATON, FL (September 1, 2006) – Florida Atlantic University has designated September as Safety Month and will host a series of events on the University’s campuses throughout the course of the month.
The events will focus on topics such as healthy lifestyles, personal property security, CPR, defensive driving, fire prevention, alcohol and drug abuse, date rape, and hurricane preparedness and recovery. FAU students, faculty and staff are encouraged to take part in the festivities, which include demonstrations from the bomb squad, FAU police, FAU’s department of environmental health and safety, the American Red Cross, and others. Events will include a mock hurricane tent, fire drills, beer goggle simulations, bike engravings, safety lectures and much more.
The Safety Month schedule is as follows:
· Boca Raton campus – week of September 11
· Broward campuses – week of September 18
· Jupiter and Treasure Coast campuses – week of September 25
