Hellenic Society of Paideia of South Florida Funds FAU Professorship

BOCA RATON (June 15, 2006) – –The Hellenic Society Paideia of South Florida recently donated a gift of $75,000 to Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters to fund a visiting assistant professor of classics and modern Greek for three years. 

The professor will be housed in FAU’s department of languages, linguistics and comparative literature and will focus on developing the modern and classical Greek curriculum.  The professor will teach classical Greek, modern Greek and literature courses such as classical myth and classical drama.
