BOCA RATON (May 1, 2008) – The Department of Music in The School of the Arts in Florida Atlantic University’s Dorothy F. Schmidt College of Arts and Letters invites the public to the 2008 Michael and Madelyn Savarick Annual Music Competition Winners Concert on Saturday, May 3 at the University Theatre on FAU’s Boca Raton campus. The concert will start at 7:30 p.m. and will feature some of South Florida’s most promising and gifted young musicians with prize-winning performances in piano, strings, voice, wind/percussion and composition.
“We are especially grateful to Madelyn Savarick for her generous support to underwrite this annual competition, with additional support from the Wachovia Foundation, The International Society of Palm Beach through Herme de Wyman Miro, Floss Keesely and Helen Babione,” said Heather Coltman, chair of the FAU department of music. “This is a wonderful chance to showcase the talent of some very promising young musicians.”
