FAU Hosts Media and Democracy Conference
BOCA RATON, FL (May 15, 2006) – Florida Atlantic University’s School of Communication and Multimedia Studies and the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies will host the 2006 Union for Democratic Communications Conference on May 19 and 20 at the Holiday Inn Town Center in Boca Raton. Daytime sessions for the conference are free and open to the public, and conference schedule information can be found at www.udc.org.
The conference, entitled “Against the Neoliberal Tide: Media and Democracy in the 21st Century,” will include international scholars, films and other presentations addressing such topics as corporate news, media activism, globalization, intellectual property, and media and politics in Latin America.
