FAU Hosts Free Community Lecture:

“Helping Keep Children with Autism Safe”

           PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (May 8, 2006) - FAU will host a free community lecture titled “Helping Keep Children with Autism Safe” on Thursday, May 18 at 7 p.m. in the IRCC Schreiber Conference Center, 500 NW California Boulevard, St. Lucie West.  The speaker, Dennis Debbaudt, is internationally recognized for training law enforcement professionals to work with persons with autism.  
            “We frequently hear of fatal incidents involving children with autism,” said Dr. Jack Scott, director of FAU’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities.  “The information provided at this session will hopefully assist in preventing future tragedies and make parents more aware of what they can do to keep their children safe.”
