“Inspired by the sounds of jack hammers, cement pumps, and nail guns operating on compressed air, and by the sight and gritty feel of white dust coating our display cases, the Jaffe Collection has put together an exhibit of artists' books that deal with the topic of construction,” said John Cutrone, book arts coordinator.
The “CONSTRUCT” exhibit takes a broad view of the idea of construction, and includes books with architectural elements, books that explore concepts of construction, books that open into rooms and spaces... even a book by a Russian Constructivist artist. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
