Health and Wellness Fair

BOCA RATON, FL (April 21, 2006) – The West Gate Community Wellness Center, a local clinic in West Palm Beach for Florida Atlantic University’s College of Nursing, is co-sponsoring the second annual Westgate Community Health and Wellness Fair.  The event will take place Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at West Gate Elementary School, 1545 Loxahatchee Drive, West Palm Beach.

The fair will include free school physicals for children, which are required for new kindergarten students.  Health information will be distributed by area agencies that will include information on healthy living for the whole family and tips on safety in the home and neighborhood. Information about hurricane and other environmental disaster preparedness also will be discussed, along with the SHARE Florida food program.

The community is invited to bring their favorite stuffed animal to donate to the “Teddy Bear” clinic, which is sponsored by FAU nursing students.

The Beacon Center at West Gate Elementary School, Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, and the Children’s Home Society of Florida are co-sponsors of the event. For more information, call the Beacon Center at 561-682-5327.
