Florida Atlantic University Libraries on the Boca Raton campus is hosting Dr. Claudia Koonz, a professor of history at Duke University and author of The Nazi Conscience, who will present a lecture titled “How Racism Became Respectable in Nazi Germany,” as the fourth lecture in the biennial K. Frank and Rita Korf Lecture Series. Koonz co-directs the Duke Refugee Action Project, is president of the Berkshire Conference for Women Historians and does training in Croatia, Central America and other areas. The Korfs donated their papers and memorabilia to FAU Libraries in 2001, creating the K. Frank and Rita Korf Collection Endowed Fund, which provides for speakers whose research touches on areas that were important to Kurt Frank Korf, including World War II, Germany in the 1920s and 1930s, and German immigration to the United States. The lectures also are held to call attention to the Korf collection and its use.
