DESCRIPTION: LUNAFEST, the fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers and bringing women together in their communities, is holding its premiere event at FAU’s Lifelong Learning Auditorium in Jupiter. This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through nine films by women filmmakers. The films range from animated shorts to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women’s health, body image, spirituality, relationships, cultural diversity and breaking barriers. All proceeds from this event will go to the Feminist Student Union, FAU Foundation and the Breast Cancer Fund. LUNAFEST is sponsored by LUNA, the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women. They have raised over $100,000 for the Breast Cancer Fund and over $250,000 for other women’s nonprofits.
