FAU Names New Dean of Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College
BOCA RATON, FL (March 30, 2006) - Florida Atlantic University Provost John Pritchett named Jeffrey L. Buller as the university’s new dean for the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College. Responsible for overseeing FAU’s most academically selective college that houses approximately 35 faculty members and more than 350 students, Buller brings extensive leadership, experience and expertise to the position.
“I am delighted that someone of Jeff’s caliber has chosen to be part of FAU’s family,” said Pritchett. “We look forward to his leadership as we seek to extend honors education throughout the university.”
Buller most recently served as vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, Virginia. In this position, he served as the college’s chief academic officer, responsible for 32 undergraduate and three graduate programs. Previous to this, Buller served as acting dean at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. Buller received his M.A. and Ph.D. in the classics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He received his undergraduate degree in modern and classical languages from the University of Notre Dame.
Buller was selected from a pool of 90 candidates during a selection process that spanned eight months. He will begin his tenure as dean of the Harriet L. Wilkes Honors College on July 1, 2006.
