FAU, United Way Lend a Hand with Florida Panthers Hockey Fundraiser
BOCA RATON, FL (March 27, 2006) – Florida Atlantic University Student Government, along with United Way and the Florida Panthers, is sponsoring “Lending Hands,” a hockey game fundraiser to benefit Palm Beach County residents still recovering from last year’s hurricanes.
The Florida Panthers will take on defending Stanley Cup champions, the Tampa Bay Lightning, on Sunday, April 9 at 5 p.m. at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise. The Florida Panthers are offering discounted ticket prices for the game, which will include a donation to the United Way for hurricane victims. A special on-ice presentation during the game also will take place to acknowledge funds raised for this event.
Upper level tickets, which are normally valued at $20, will cost $15 and include a $5 donation to the United Way; lower level tickets at a $60 value will cost $40, and include a $10 donation; and Lexus Club level tickets normally at $70 will cost $50, with a $15 donation to United Way.
United Way has raised more than $688,000 for victims of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, as well as more than $28,000 for Hurricane Wilma victims.
