Hosts Free Workshop

            PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (March 27, 2006) - FAU’s Center for Autism and Related Disabilities (CARD) will host a two-day workshop titled “Enhancing the Development of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorders” on Friday, March 31 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and on Saturday, April 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will be held at FAU’s Treasure Coast Campus for teachers, para-professionals, parents, in-home therapists, agency professionals and any others who are interested. Topics for discussion will include an overview of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), teaching in a natural environment, Individualized Education Plans, Positive Behavior Support, accessing community resources, and training on discrete trial therapy and verbal behavior.
