FAU to Host 2nd Annual Research Forum on
Small Business and
Entrepreneurship Issues
BOCA RATON, FL (March 8, 2006) – Florida Atlantic University’s College of Business and the Journal of Small Business Management, a premier journal focusing on small business research, are hosting the 2nd Annual Research Forum on Small Business and Entrepreneurship Issues, which will primarily focus on management concerns particular to small firms. Top researchers from across the world will participate in this event, to be held on Saturday, March 18 beginning at 8:15a.m. at the Westin Diplomat, located in Hollywood, Florida.
“This annual forum showcases cutting edge research in the field of small business and entrepreneurship,” said Professor Chandra Mishra, FAU’s Office Depot Eminent Scholar Chair in Small Business Research.
“It also offers an excellent example of industry, foundation and academia partnering to further a major business segment.”
Researchers will present papers on a variety of topics, including the significance of marketing, entrepreneurial marketing and failure, brand management, franchise contracts, contract evolution, entrepreneurial orientation and international issues. Special guests from the Journal of Small Business Management will participate, along with international academic presenters representing institutions from five countries including Monash University and the University of Australia (Australia), York University (Canada), Management School of Xi”an Jiaotang (China), University of Münster (Germany) and Ankara University (Turkey). Other participants include guests from Florida State University, Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville, Syracuse University, University of Illinois at Chicago, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, University of South Florida and others.
A gift from Office Depot to FAU’s College of Business provides the financial support for this event. The event is co-sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, which works with leading educators and researchers nationwide to develop and disseminate proven programs that enhance entrepreneurial skills and abilities.
