FAU Offers Course in Digital Photography
BOCA RATON, FL (March 8, 2006) – Florida Atlantic University is offering a professional training program in digital photography and post image processing. The course begins on Wednesday, March 15 from 7 to 9 p.m., in the Social Sciences Building, Room 318, on the Boca Raton campus, 777 Glades Road. A session will follow each week for nine weeks on Wednesdays from 7 to 9 p.m.
This course, which offers both entry level and intermediate level classes, is designed to improve the technical skills of still-image users. The emphasis is to “digitally enhance” students’ existing film-based skills toward modern high quality digital processes, equipment, methods and techniques.
The instructor, Jim Wilson, is an FAU adjunct faculty member who is known in South Florida for his proficiency in digital imaging. Wilson, who authored the course lab manual, “Principles of Digital Imaging and Post Image Processing,” has more than 25 years of professional imaging experience, including coverage of several presidential inaugurations, engagements at the United States Congress and the United States Supreme Court. In addition, he has been actively recording events with digital equipment for the NCAA and many FAU athletic and campus events.
The cost of the course is $400, which includes the cost of the computer lab manual. Advance registration is required, and the registration deadline is Monday, March 13. Classes fill quickly, so register online at www.fau.edu/fiog/ as soon as possible to reserve a seat.
