FAU Sets Sight on Florida’s Capitol
BOCA RATON, FL (March 6, 2006) - Florida Atlantic University President Frank T. Brogan, Board of Trustees members, staff, alumni and students will participate in “FAU Day” at Florida’s capitol on Tuesday, March 7. FAU’s representatives and friends will discuss:
· FAU/UMMSM/BRCH Medical Education Program Expansion –
$2,100,000
· Graduate student tuition waiver enhancements – $1,500,000
· Branch campus operating costs – $2,500,000
· Campus recovery costs for hurricanes – $3,200,000 and utilities/energy increases – $2,100,000
· Support for state economic development in Nursing, Engineering and Teaching (NET) and expansion of Centers of Excellence – $4,300,000
Highlights of FAU’s schedule in Tallahassee include a display showcase on the capitol’s third floor from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday and legislative appointments on Wednesday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
