Judaica Sound Archives Founder to Discuss Challenges of Preserving Judaica Recordings During “From Trash to Treasure” Presentation

                   presentation by Nathan Tinanoff, founder and director of the Judaica
                   Sound Archives ® (JSA) at Florida Atlantic University Libraries,
                   featuring photographs and musical selections from original phonograph
                   recordings.

The Judaica Sound Archives® (JSA) at FAU Libraries has been collecting recorded music and voices of the early 20th century since 2002. Founder and Director Nathan Tinanoff will discuss how the JSA became the fastest growing and one of the largest collections of Judaica recordings in the world. His presentation, “From Trash to Treasure: Building the Judaica Sound Archives,” will cover past challenges and innovative directions for the future. This informative lecture is filled with photographs and musical selections from original phonograph recordings.
