Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center at

FAU Seeks Volunteers

          BOCA RATON, FL (February 21, 2006) – The Louis and Anne Green Memory and Wellness Center, located on Florida Atlantic University’s Boca Raton campus, is addressing the complex problems of Alzheimer’s disease and related memory disorders through research, education and provision of care.  

            In an effort to enhance community involvement, the Center is making available volunteer opportunities for the following areas –

• Tour guides
• Meeters and greeters
• Art instructors or assistants
• Craft instructors or assistants
• Musical performers or leaders
• Cooking instructors or assistants
• Game room hosts or assistants
• Educational presenters
• Support group facilitators
• Those who would like to get involved in one-on-one activities, mind enhancing groups, gardening programs, special events, telephone or clerical help, or general operations.

Volunteers are needed weekdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. A volunteer orientation will take place Thursday, March 2 at 10 a.m.

            The Memory and Wellness Center is located next to the FAU Police Station. To register or for more information, contact Maria Tamburri at 561-297-4066.
