FAU Hosts ‘Jihadist Strategies Against America: Infiltration, Osama, and Saudi Support for Radical Islam,’ Lecture by Dr. Walid Phares, Terrorism Expert, MSNBC Analyst

BOCA RATON, FL (February 6, 2006) – “Jihadist Strategies Against America: Infiltration, Osama, and Saudi Support for Radical Islam” is the second of four lectures by Dr. Walid Phares in a course sponsored by Florida Atlantic University’s Lifelong Learning Society(LLS).  It will be offered twice on Saturday, February 18, with a morning lecture scheduled at FAU’s Jupiter campus starting at 10 a.m., and an afternoon lecture on the Boca Raton campus beginning at 2 p.m.

Phares will discuss specific strategies used by jihadists in the United States and abroad.  He will identify what American institutions and organizations have been infiltrated by the supporters of radical Islam, as well as where and how the U.S. government has been influenced and mollified by the radical’s supporters.  In addition, Phares will talk about who is controlling U.S. foreign policy and expose what role Saudi oil money plays in the support of terrorism and radical Islam in the U.S. and worldwide.

Phares is an international expert on jihadism (Islamic war) and Middle East affairs.  Historically, he has provided accurate analyses of jihadi activities, identified their strategies and acurately predicted jihadi tactics.  Phares’ recent book, “Future Jihad,” serves as the course text, and can be purchased the day of the lecture in the auditorium lobby.  Phares will be available to autograph copies.

A senior fellow at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies in Washington, D.C.,   Phares not only consults with both U.S. and foreign governments, but is a regular contributor on MSNBC, and also appears on CNN, Fox News, C-Span, al Jazeera, al Hurra, BBC and other media, providing the latest analysis of terrorist actions and Middle East events.

Registration for this event is required. Admission at the door is $10 per lecture and passes may be purchased in the lobby of the auditorium based on availability. For more information, call the LLS Boca Raton office at 561-297-3171, or the LLS Jupiter office at 561-799-8547 or 561-799-8667, or visit www.fau.edu/divdept/lifelong/llshome.htm.
