DESCRIPTION:
Although limitations of mammography in breast cancer detection continue into the 21st century, there are innovative developments to help improve diagnosis. Dr. Kathy Schilling, medical director of breast imaging and intervention at the Center for Breast Care at Boca Raton Community Hospital (BRCH), will discuss these new innovations, including digital mammography, computer aided detection, digital tomosynthesis, breast MRI and automated breast ultrasound. This new technology will be available to the community through the Center for Breast Care at BRCH this year.
