The Lifelong Learning Society hosted a donor recognition celebration last month marking the culmination of the building campaign for the Elinor Bernon Rosenthal Lifelong Learning Complex.
Major donors, including Elinor Bernon Rosenthal, Tamar & Milton Maltz and the late Pearl Perloff, were honored. The Irwin L. Galkin Wall of Honor, listing donors of who contributed $2,000 or more, was unveiled. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting also took place.
“The donors who provided funding for this unique facility made a gift of great value to the entire community, and we thank them most sincerely for their generosity,” said President Brogan. “The activities that take place here will touch the lives of many people, including members of our rapidly growing Lifelong Learning Society, our faculty, our undergraduate and graduate students, and residents of northern Palm Beach County. This versatile complex will set the standard for lifelong learning facilities nationally as it expands FAU’s ability to serve the local community.”
At a cost of $5.2 million, the Elinor Bernon Rosenthal Lifelong Learning Complex is comprised of three buildings totaling 22,000 square feet. The complex includes the 500-seat, state-of-the-art Tamar & Milton Maltz Center for Education and the Pearl Perloff East and West halls. Large classrooms and administrative offices complete the complex.
Funding for the complex was raised by Lifelong Learning Society members. A very successful “Take Your Seat” campaign generated additional funds to complete the center. LLS students were welcomed into their new facility when classes resumed last fall.
