The President has announced that in appreciation for the hard work of our faculty and staff, the University will be closed on Friday, Dec. 23, and Friday, Dec. 30, in addition to the two official state holidays of Monday, Dec. 26, and Monday, Jan. 2 -- providing our employees with a total of four days of paid leave.
As you may know, each state university has the option of issuing holiday closures and each university has to make those decisions in light of their responsibilities to the communities they serve.
The two additional days FAU has issued will permit most FAU employees to enjoy extra time off during the holidays while avoiding a negative impact on FAU's mission, which must continue to be served even during the holiday season. Some personnel may be asked by their supervisors to staff certain critical areas; however, these employees will be provided other leave opportunities.
President and Mrs. Brogan look forward to welcoming faculty and staff to the Eleanor R. Baldwin House for the traditional Holiday Open House on Monday, Dec. 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. Please respond to ext. 7-RSVP (7787) if you plan to attend. Remember to bring non-perishable food items for the Farmworker Coordinating Council of Palm Beach County.
Hundreds of FAU Team members and thousands of Boca Raton residents helped “Change Tomorrow, Today” for those affected by heart disease and strokes. The team raised $3,500 for the American Heart Association at last month's Heart Walk on the Boca Raton campus. (Read about the Treasure Coast campus' Heart Walk event here.) Way to go teams! |
