At the homecoming game on Nov. 12, the Fort Lauderdale Executives Association came out to support the University and the football team. The Executives Association tailgating and Employee Appreciation Day party began early and continued until game time. The celebration included many members of the association and their families, as well as an enthusiastic DJ, raffles and giveaways, refreshments and games. President Brogan, the FAU dance team and the marching band all made appearances at the festivities. This marked the third annual Employee Appreciation Day and the most successful yet, selling 1,137 game tickets.
In the spirit of success, the Owls finished strong with a 26-23 victory over North Texas as FAU's Daniel Kennard kicked a 33-yard field goal with 1:38 left in the game (see photo above). Clearly, it means a great deal to the team’s morale to have strong supporters like the Executives Association. “Coach Howard Schnellenberger taught us that just like football, networking is a contact sport,” said Dr. Peter Sarbone, president of the Executives Association. “We wanted to invite our member businesses as a tribute to them and to encourage a greater turn-out of fans for this golden gem we call FAU.” Good friends, good times and good football -- truly a winning combination! |
