• Career Day (fall & spring):

Career Day is held at the beginning of each fall and spring semester. It is more commonly referred to as the “job fair.” Career Days have many different companies and  representatives in attendance. A popular misconception about Career Day is that companies are there to hire on the spot, which is not the case. Career Day is a one day networking event intended to facilitate face-to-face interaction between students and employers. Students are required to dress professionally, and they are highly advised to bring copies of their resume. Target audience: Primarily seniors, but any and all students can attend.  Many of the companies in attendance offer part-time jobs, co-op's and internships for sophomores through graduating students.

• Career Day 101 (fall & spring)

Career Day 101 is held every fall and spring semester prior to and in preparation for Career Day. This seminar includes strategies on how to prepare for a job fair, what to bring to the event, how to network with employers and tips on dressing for success. Students who attend this event will be thoroughly prepared for Career Day. Target audience: Career Day is open to all FAU students. It is strongly recommended that all students who are planning on attending Career Day attend at this seminar.

• Career Prep Month (fall & spring)

Career Prep Month kicks off our recruiting season.  It is a month long series of workshops that specifically benefit students who plan to attend Career Day.  The workshop topics include resume writing, interview skills. Career Day 101 and Resume critiques are also held. Students need to reserve an appointment ahead of time for the resume critiques. This is separate from same day advising and individual appointments. Target audience: FAU Students/alumni who are planning on attending Career Day, and/or students who are seeking employment.

• Professional Graduate School Day (fall)

Professional Graduate School Day is held every fall semester in the month of October. Students get a chance to interact with over 100 graduate admission representatives from 50 schools (including FAU). Target audience: All FAU students interested in graduate school.

• Etiquette Dining (spring)

The Etiquette Dining event includes a sit down meal in conjunction with professional instruction on how to dine like a diplomat. Students learn the ins and outs of dining etiquette which they can later apply to job interviews and/or professional social events. This is an extremely popular event, it reaches the maximum capacity for attendance every time. Students are required to dress professional and submit a deposit to reserve a seat. Target Audience: Any enrolled FAU students.

• Carnival of Majors (spring)

The Carnival of Majors Fair is held every spring semester and is co-sponsored by the Career Development Center, the Office for Student Retention, and Freshman Academic Advising Services (FAAS). At this event students can meet with faculty and staff from FAU colleges to learn about the majors offered, complementary minors, and how their degree(s) will prepare them for future endeavors.  Apart from the college representative students will have a chance to meet representatives from various Student Affairs and Academic Affairs departments, such as: Student Development & Activities, the Counseling Center, the Center  for Civic Engagement, Office for Student with Disabilities, International Programs and many more!
