Group Fitness Class Descriptions
BalleTONE (Levels 1-3): This ballet-style class is geared towards strength and cardio training. No dance experience required!
Boot Camp (Levels 2-3): A high-intensity, athletic style of training that combines cardio and agility drills with strength training. Whether you’re and avid athlete or you simply want to get lean, Boot Camp offers a challenge.
Core Blast 30 (Levels 1-3): This class offers innovative exercises designed to strengthen the abdominal, oblique, and lower back muscles. It is an ideal addition to another class or can be taken alone.
Define (Levels 1-3): Integrates a variety of equipment to give your entire body a great workout. “Define” will utilize strength training to boost your metabolism and get you lean!
Fusion (Levels 1-3): This class is a perfect FUSION of cardio, strength, and flexibility training, all in one great class.
Outdoor Cross Training (Levels 2-3): Take your training to the great outdoors! This class is a unique combination of running, agility/cardio drills, strength training, and general conditioning. Outdoor Cross Training utilizes the FAU campus to provide participants with a change of pace!
Pilates (Levels 1-3): The focus of this class is to isolate, activate, and condition the body’s deep core muscles. This mat-based Pilates class improves flexibility, coordination, muscle control, posture, and strength through physical and mental conditioning.
Step It Up (Levels 1-3): Get the cardio benefits of step along with the strength and toning benefits of a resistance training class. Step It Up combines high-intensity step combinations with a variety of resistance equipment to give you a total body workout!
Yoga (Levels 1-3): Connect with your body, mind, and spirit in this FITNESS-BASED yoga class. This relaxing and challenging workout is a combination of breathing, strength, flexibility, balance, relaxation, and stress-management techniques.
Zumba (Levels 1-3): A combination of high energy, motivating music, unique moves, and combos that allow participants to dance away their worries. Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for both the body and the mind!
Group Fitness Instructor Training and Personal Trainer Prep Courses (Levels 2-3)
Explore the world of fitness instruction by registering for the Group Fitness Instructor and Personal Trainer Prep Courses TODAY! Upon successful completion of the course, you will earn our in-house certification and be eligible to become a member of FAU Campus Recreation’s elite team of fitness professionals. 3 Levels of Fitness
Level 1: For those who are new to Group Fitness programs and/or exercise programs.
Level 2: For those who are familiar with Group Fitness programs and/or have some experience with exercise programs.
Level 3: For those who are active in Group Fitness programs and are currently involved in exercise programs.
