Which classes are for ME?
FAU Group Fitness classes are categorized into three levels to help you decide which classes are best for you!
Level 1: For those who are new to Group Fitness programs and/or exercise.
Level 2: For those who are familiar with Group Fitness programs and/or have some experience engaging in moderate to high intensity physical activity.
Level 3: For those who are active in Group Fitness programs and are currently involved in regular exercise programs.
CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Bosu , Core & Cardio (Levels 1-3): This class will utilize the BOSU along with other functional & resistance tools to improve balance, mobility, core-strength, and cardio-vascular endurance using the interval method!
Capoeira (Levels 1-3): This Brazilian art form combines dance, martial arts, and the music of Brazil. Capoeira is based on continuous rhythmic movements that increase core strength, balance, endurance, flexibility, and coordination, providing a culturally creative way to get a total body workout!
Cardio Dance (Levels 1-3): Cardio dance uses turns, sharp movements, and choreographed routines to give your body a great workout! Work up a sweat while having a great time!
Cardio Hip Hop (Levels 1-3): This high-energy cardio workout combines choreography with fun, fast-paced music. No experience is necessary - everyone is sure to burn calories and work up a sweat!
Core Blast 30 (Levels 1-3): Offers innovative exercises designed to strengthen the core muscles. Participants will utilize a variety of equipment including stability balls, BOSUs, resistance bands, and more! Core Blast is an ideal addition to another class, or can be taken alone.
Core Stretch (Levels 1-3): Experience the perfect mix of yoga-like movements with Pilates - inspired conditioning necessary to strengthen and stretch the core! This 30-minute class will improve your flexibility as well as increase core strength and stability.
Cycle 60 (Levels 2-3): A high-energy, low-impact workout, mixing interval training, climbs, sprints, and more. Make this class as intense as you wish - it is YOUR ride!
Cycle Express (Levels 1-3): A quick and effective 30-minute cardio workout perfect for your lunch break or those on a tight schedule. Cycle Express is the perfect pair to Core Stretch!
Fusion (Levels 1-3): This class is the perfect FUSION of cardio, strength, and flexibility training, all in one great class.
HootCamp (Levels 2-3): This high-intensity, athletic style of training is FAU’s take on the traditional “Bootcamp” classes! Hootcamp combines cardio, agility drills, and strength training to give participants a workout that is sure to challenge the body!
Night Owl Yoga (Levels 1-3): Join us for a traditional yoga class after the sun goes down! This class is the perfect yoga class for those who prefer to hit the gym at night. Connect with your body, mind, and spirit in this fitness-based yoga class before you hit the sack.
Outdoor Cross-Training (Levels 2-3): Take your training to the great outdoors! This class is a unique combination of running, agility/cardio drills, strength training, and general conditioning. Outdoor Cross-Training utilizes the FAU campus to provide participants with a fresh change of pace!
Pilates (Levels 1-3): Focuses on isolating, activating, and conditioning the body’s deep core muscles. This mat-based Pilates class improves flexibility, coordination, muscle control, posture, and strength through physical and mental conditioning.
Tuff N’ Up (Levels 1-3): Tuff N' Up is an effective way to shape up and lose body fat. This total body conditioning class utilizes weights and is for anyone who wants to add strength training into their aerobic workout and get lean!
Turbo Kick (Levels 2-3): Turbo Kick is a combination of intense kickboxing moves as well as dance moves all perfectly choreographed to high-energy music. It’s the ultimate cardio challenge that’s a unique blend of intense intervals, strength/endurance training, and a relaxing cool-down. Turbo Kick requires no previous kickboxing experience or equipment.
Yoga (Levels 1-3): Connect with your body, mind, and spirit in this FITNESS BASED yoga class. This relaxing and challenging workout is a combination of breathing, strength, flexibility, balance, relaxation, and stress-management techniques.
Yogalates (Levels 1-3): The ultimate fusion of Yoga and Pilates to create a strong, streamlined body. This class will leave you feeling taller, leaner and stress-free.
Zumba (Levels 1-3): A combination of high energy, motivating music, unique moves, and combinations that allow participants to dance away their worries. Zumba is a “feel-happy” workout that is great for the body and the mind!
Zumba Fusion (Levels 1-3): Fuses the traditional "party-feeling" of Zumba Dance mixed with simple cardio hip-hop and jazz dance! A small portion of this class will be spent sculpting and toning the entire body. COME JOIN THE PARTY!!
