Student Position Descriptions
The first step in working with Campus Rec is to attend a Recruitment Session. At Recruitment, our professionals and lead student staff will discuss the hiring process in detail and job details are discussed. After attending the session, applicants should submit the application along with a resume and cover letter to the Campus Rec Offices by 5:00pm the day immediately following Recruitment. Fitness Center Host
Hosts are responsible for maintaining a safe and healthy environment for all members in the weight room and cardio room. This includes maintaining equipment, enforcing guidelines, providing member services and keeping areas clean and well organized.
Guest Service Host
Hosts are responsible for delivering quality guest service. This includes answering questions by phone and in person, equipment checkout , enforcing guidelines, keeping areas clean and organized and assisting with facility supervision.
Intramural Sports Official
The Intramural Sports Official will be responsible for providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all program participants and spectators. Officials must demonstrate absolute control of the game. Customer service skills and knowledge of sport are crucial to being a successful official. Officiating experience and rule knowledge is preferred but not required. We will train!
Group Fitness Instructor
Instructors are responsible for designing, instructing and evaluating group exercise classes. Individuals must be personable, out-going and enthusiastic with a desire to help class participants reach their fitness goals. Must have ability to motivate others and lead a safe and effective group exercise class. Individuals must demonstrate working knowledge of group exercise equipment and protocols. Nationally recognized certification required – Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFFA) preferred.
Lifeguard
Aquatic center lifeguards are primarily responsible for guest safety. This includes maintaining equipment, enforcing guidelines, member service and keeping areas clean and well organized. Current American Red Cross Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR certifications are required for this position.
Office Staff Assistant
Responsible for providing office support to professional staff which includes answering phones, providing excellent customer service, filing and clerical work and running errands throughout campus. Customer service skills and computer literacy are critical for this position.
