Environmental Law Expert to Speak on the Future of Florida’s Beaches at FAU ‘Surfing Florida’ Exhibition:  The University Galleries will present the lecture, “Feeling the Squeeze: The Future of the Beaches in Florida,” with University of Florida law professor Tom Ankersen on Thursday, May 3 at 8 pm in the Performing Arts Building, room 101, 777 Glades Road, Boca Raton campus. The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion that includes representatives of beach and ocean advocates from Surfrider Foundation, Blue Water Initiative (South Florida) , Gumbo Limbo Environmental Center (Boca Raton), Reef Rescue (Delray Beach), Mother Ocean and Eastern Surfing Association. The lecture is presented in association with “Surfing Florida: A Photographic History,” a landmark exhibition on view in the Schmidt Center Gallery through Saturday, May 12. The exhibition will be open for 30 minutes before and after the lecture program.
