Freshman Scholarships

 All scholarships are available for Spring and Fall terms only. Please fill out the Freshman Scholarship Online Application. Applicants must apply and be admitted as degree seeking students. Students must have a high school diploma or the equivalence before the first day of class in order to meet scholarship criteria.

Bank of America Florida 's Community Scholars Program

Awards of $2,000 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen entering a state public university. Students must demonstrate financial need; please complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility. Recipient must demonstrate a history of community service and must have a minimum 3.3 GPA. Award will be evenly divided between fall and spring terms. The student must maintain continuous enrollment, and scholarship eligibility will not exceed a maximum of eight semesters. Fanjul Academic and Community Excellence Award

Awards of $2,500 per year, renewable for up to four years for students who maintain good academic standing while enrolled at FAU. The Fanjul award is designed to recognize students who have worked for academic excellence and have demonstrated leadership service in their community. This award is only available to students in western Palm Beach County who attend Pahokee, Clewiston and Glades Central High Schools , and who are planning to enroll at Florida Atlantic University as first year freshmen. Students must have an overall GPA of 3.0 and a minimum 1000 SAT-I or 21 ACT score.

Depan International Freshman Student Scholarship

Awards of $2,000 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen entering FAU on a student or scholar visa. Eligibility criteria will include: Outstanding academic achievement; 3.0 minimum GPA; English proficiency required for admission to FAU and evidence of community service or high school involvement. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement at FAU and full time enrollment.

FAU Presidential Scholarship

Awards of $4,000 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen with a high school academic average GPA of 3.5 and an SAT-I score of 1270 or an ACT score of 29. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement. Scholarship applications are not required for this award as students' eligibility is determined when an undergraduate application is submitted.

M. Brenn Green Scholarship

Awards of $1,000 per year to first-time-in-college freshmen majoring in one of the following areas: anthropology, criminal justice, economics, geography, health administration, political science, social psychology, social work or sociology. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement and completion in one of the areas above.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Award

Awards of $3,000 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen who meet the academic requirements for admission to FAU and demonstrate financial need. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement. To determine eligibility, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have a minimum score of 1000 on the SAT-1 or a 21 on the ACT.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholar Award

Awards of $3,200 per year for first-time-in-college freshmen with a 3.0 high school GPA and 1100 on the SAT-I or 24 on the ACT. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement.

National Merit Scholar

Awards of $7,500 per year are offered to qualified students named as National Merit Scholars by the National Merit Scholarships Corporation (NMSC). Candidates are selected by NMSC according to PSAT results. Documentation of selection as recipient is required. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement.

National Merit/Achievement/Hispanic-Scholarship Finalist

Awards of $4,000 per year are offered to qualified students named as the College Board's Finalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) or National Hispanic Scholar Recognition Program (NHRP) according to PSAT results. Documentation of selection as "Merit" recipient is required. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement.

National Merit/Achievement/Hispanic-Scholarship Semifinalist

Awards of $3,000 per year renewable up to four years based on academic achievement, for qualified students named as the College Board's Semifinalists by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) or National Hispanic Scholar Recognition Program (NHRP) according to PSAT results. Documentation of selection as "Merit" recipient is required. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement.

Salutatorian Scholarship

Awards of $3,000 per year are offered to first-time-in-college freshmen that were Florida high school salutatorians. Students must also achieve a minimum 1000 on the SAT-I or a 21 on the ACT. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement.

Valedictorian Scholarship

Awards of $4,000 per year are offered to first-time-in-college freshmen that were Florida high school valedictorians. Students must also achieve a minimum 1000 on the SAT-I or a 21 on the ACT. Renewable up to four years based on academic achievement.

SECME, Inc. (Southeastern Consortium for Minorities in Engineering)

Awards of $3,000 per year available to a limited number of students from SECME High Schools in Broward and Palm Beach counties. Students must meet the academic requirements for admission to FAU and have participated in the SECME program. Renewable for up to four years based on academic achievement. Applicants must also achieve a minimum 1000 on the SAT-1 or a 21 on the ACT and submit a personal essay, two letters of reference and a scholarship application. United States Army ROTC Scholarships

Available for full-time students enrolled in FAU's Army ROTC program. Benefit package includes: payment of tuition and fees, $900 for books, and a monthly stipend during the academic year. Walter Gaeser Scholarship

An award of $500 to a first-time-in-college freshman majoring in business. This is a non-renewable award available to students who demonstrate financial need and a minimum SAT-I score of 1000 or ACT score of 21.

Welcome to FAU Scholarship

Awards of $1,000 per year are available for freshmen entering Florida Atlantic University as full-time students in the fall semester. This is a non-renewable award available to students with a high school academic average of 3.0 and an SAT-I score of 1000 or an ACT score of 21. Applicants must also submit a personal essay on the subject of their choice.
